Silver Maple Blue Cribbage Bowl
Heirloom Quality Cribbage Bowl
Minnesota Silver Maple has been stained to give the wood an old ceramic look which contrasts the natural bowl and bottom. Paired with Paul Buyan cards from artist Adam Turman makes this the perfect Minnesota gift! Two resin tracks can accommodate two or four players partnered. Unique bowl design is perfect for a coffee table display and can hold your crib or family game night snacks! This particular bowl is a shallower profile than the majority of my cribbage pieces.
Play requires one revolution around the 120 holes and peg out with 121. Skunk lines are marked in yellow, and every 5 holes are marked in black for easy pegging. Pictured cards and pegs are included.
The shallow bowl and its bottom are finished with a food safe butcher block conditioner (mineral oil/beeswax), which can be reapplied as needed and is readily available online and at local stores. Playing surface and outer bowl is a wood stain with a matte water base finish.
Measures 13 3/8 wide x 2 3/4 high x 2 bowl depth.
Artist signature and piece detail is on the bottom of the bowl.
Price differences in cribbage bowls reflect the type of wood, size, finish, and time involved with added details.
I'm not a production turner; I do not use automated machinery. Each bowl starts as a locally sourced log, before being roughed out with the chainsaw and bandsaw then receives an initial turn on the lathe. Bowls of this size can take up to two years to dry before being turned again, pouring the resin track, meticulously hand sanding and finishing. Due to the hand-crafted process subtle variations in the resin may be noted.
I sand the majority of my pieces to at least 1000 grit and do go up to 3000 grit with some of my darker colored woods. The smooth finish allows you to simply wipe as needed with a dry cloth, chemical cleaners should never be needed in general care.
Bowl will be professionally packaged and insured. Free shipping within the continental US or local pickup available. Please contact me to discuss the price of additional shipping requests or for further details regarding the bowl.
