This urn was hand turned on my lathe from a Yellow Birch tree acquired just north of Duluth MN. The classic vessel design accentuates the natural flare of the wood, contrasting heartwood and sapwood and various bark inclusions. Urn has been meticulously hand sanded and is sealed with an oil-based satin finish on both the outside and inside. Lid sits nicely on top and can be glued on at your discretion.
Urn size measures approximately 9" height, 5.5" wide, 7" deep
Urn Volume is approximately 75 cubic inches
The majority of my pieces are sanded to at least 1000 grit and do go up to 3000 grit with some of my darker colored woods. The smooth finish allows you to simply wipe as needed with a dry cloth, chemical cleaners should never be needed in general care.
